Bushwick is a neighborhood full of edgy and innovate art as well as the classic, old world industrial feel of New York City. Our particular location is nestled into a corridor of adjacent warehouses, really accenting the artsy element and creating mini worlds within the world of Brooklyn.
Studio 301 NYC first opened our doors in June of 2014 just in time for the annual ‘Bushwick Open Studios Art Festival.’ We are a 2,500 square foot industrially style creative space and gallery located in the culturally distinct neighborhood of Bushwick, in Brooklyn, New York, USA.
Studio 301 has unique origins; being converted by founder and visionary Faith Blackshear, who was seeking to expand the reach of artists in marginalized communities without access to larger galleries or fine arts spaces to host events, sell and exhibit work. She saw the space as somewhere to gather, watch film and examine visual art. Faith spent over 2,000 hours renovating the space by hand, keeping in mind her overall goal of achieving a minimal, yet aesthetically appealing world tucked away in Brooklyn.
